Polka dots are really fun to wear and add a graphic element to any outfit. Do you know the origin of the name? Well the name comes from the polka dance. There were many types of ‘polka’ branded items that came out of the Czech peasant dance craze, like polka pudding, polka suspenders etc, but the polka-dot pattern is the one that has really lasted till the present day.
Polka dots have been in fashion since the 1920. This playful, feminine pattern has been worn by celebrities and normal women alike, in a wide variety of styles. This pattern has been a constant fixture both on and off the runway. This eternal classic has been described by designer Marc Jacobs as “There is never a wrong time for a polka dot.”
