Shilpa’s passion for cooking blossomed from a young age. Assisting her mother in the kitchen, she developed her skills and ventured beyond home-cooked meals. From her humble beginnings making Pista Paan during Ganesh Festival, Shilpa’s treats gained immense popularity, leading to her first export order to Singapore in 1998. Her culinary journey soared as she won Chef of the Year at Sydney in 2016.

She gained prestigious patisserie chef qualifications from South Bank Institute of Technology, Australia.With over 25 years+ of experience, she has catered to over 100+ events, earning widespread appreciation. She is an Individual who connects people and makes friends with the food she creates. Born in Mumbai, India, Shilpa had a passion for innovation in cooking with mastery over the basics of Indian vegetarian cooking. The love for cooking started in Shilpa’s childhood, be it helping her mother, adding cooking as a subject in her academics a great cook, and preparing traditional Indian dishes at home for family and friends.

Shilpa started her journey to learn professional cooking in her early years, which continued after her marriage, and she gained prestigious credentials as a Patisserie Chef from Southbank Institute of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.

She started making unique sweets like Pista Paan at home for family and friends on Ganesh Chaturthi, which turned into a request to make it for them. The journey started in 1998 with the first order of Pista Paan, which was exported from Mumbai to Singapore. There has been no looking back since then. The much-loved sweet has won many hearts and a prestigious Chef of the Year award in Sydney in 2016.

Shilpa continued to prepare unique sweets and chocolates at home on an order basis. Also she taught the same to friends and started cooking classes in many cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Nashik, Sydney and Brisbane. She participated in a cooking show on Sony TV in 2010.

Shilpa worked as Patisserie Chef at Boutique Business Pattison’s Patisserie in Sydney for 3 years, sharing her excellent knowledge to craft unique recipes and learning the master of commercial cooking. In 2016, Shilpa started her venture, Shilpa’s Veg Delectable, to share the love of vegetarian cooking, creating unique vegetarian dishes with authentic flavours for various occasions in Sydney. She has catered for over 100 events for 20-500 people. The brand Shilpa Kotak was born with the continued appreciation of the food she’s served for the last 25 years….

In 2018, Shilpa extended her business into gifting, creating unique hampers for various Indian functions from Raksha Bandhan to Diwali. The gift hampers are completely customised to suit the event, customer needs, and every pocket size. The new brans Shilpa’s Toukree was born. The hampers include her unique homemade sweets and other gift items made by under privileged women entrepreneurs from the villages of India. She made 100 gift hampers for Australia’s largest bank, Commonwealth Bank for Diwali in 2021. Every year she brings smiles to the faces of over 500 customers with gift hampers in the Indian Community in Australia.
