Mercedes was a finalist in the 2022 NSW Volunteer of the Year awards and also a finalist at the International Women’s Day National award 2022, and this year a finalist for the Citizen of the Year Award 2023.
Mercedes Durante is a former president of Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club and has been a Rotarian for almost 7 years, helping fundraising to support her community.
Now Mercedes is part of Castle Hill Rotary Club.
Mercedes Durante is a Director of the Positive Vibes Foundation as well as the Founding Director and Company Secretary of Spotlight Focus Ltd.
Mercedes is also the head of ‘The Hills Women’s Shed’ which is an initiative of PVF.
Mercedes is a First Responder for St John Ambulance at the Hills Division attending duties on the weekend providing first and advanced aid response to members of our community at local and regional events.
Mercedes is a qualified and experienced Corporate Banker and Finance Broker with 22 years extensive background in Banking & Finance experience.
She is the founder and director or MD Finance, a broking business with customers throughout Australia, helping customers buy their first home, refinance their home loan for a better deal, arrange equipment finance, etc.
She is a Justice of the peace for NSW and ACT; a First Responder at St John Ambulance.
Mercedes is also a very active volunteer within the Hills community to help those in need by being a committee member of the North Kellyville Advocacy Group (NKAG) raising issues within our community and the Hills Shire Council; volunteering for the Hills Relay for Life fundraising events, volunteering at The Salvation Army and its Red Shield Appeal to mention a few.
Mercedes was the former chair of the Hills Women’s Shed Community Garden; former Vice President and founder of Brighter Stellar Inc, a non-for-profit organisation located in Bella Vista NSW
