“I never dreamed of becoming a Funeral Director, but now I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

“Vin didn’t grow up dreaming of becoming a Funeral Director, but life had other plans. With a successful career in healthcare and an MBA from AGSM, Vin’s world was turned upside down after the loss of her father. Out of that profound grief emerged a new calling—one that allows her to offer compassionate support to grieving families while honoring her father’s legacy of kindness.”

Here is Vin’s story, told from her heart:

When I was a little girl, I can assure I didn’t dream of growing up to be a Funeral Director. Through life’s twists and turns I ended up in a profession that is deeply fulfilling.

My education is in business as I completed a MBA from AGSM. I spent many years working in healthcare and had a successful career, but not necessarily rewarding.

However, in 2012, tragedy struck my family with the passing of my beloved father at the age of 68. This sent me of a spiral of grief and dissolutionment as I tried to find meaning of why we are here on this earth if only to work hard and then die.

My father was a General Practitioner and served thousands of patients in his professional life but his kindness and care for his community extended further with his involvement in a number of community groups.

A few years later, I had the privilege of working in the funeral industry where I led multicultural funerals at an ASX listed company. During this time, I discovered just how rewarding it was to be of service to families during their darkest days.

Over time, the desire to bring the exceptional service standards I learnt in my job to my community grew. At some point in time, everyone experiences the loss of a loved one and I want to be able to offer a cocoon of compassion as I know first hand what that family is going through.

Everest Funerals provides an end to end service and does as much as possible for our client families so they don’t have to arrange anything whilst grieving.
My vision for Everest Funerals is to bring my knowledge of south asian culture, industry experience and the legacy of my father’s kindness and compassion to each family I have the honour of serving.

I believe each and every life is sacred and deserves to be remembered and celebrated
