“I don’t design clothes. I design dreams.” —Ralph Lauren

This past Saturday, July 8th, She Magazine had the incredible opportunity to attend the remarkable Space Walk Event held at Castle Hill RSL Club. As a Media Charity Ambassador, we were honored and delighted to be part of the event organised by the Sydney Community Group (SCG), whose dedication and commitment to making a positive impact are truly commendable. We would also like to express our appreciation to President Indu Harikrishna and Events Director Manjula Viswanath for their exceptional work.

The event not only showcased an exquisite fusion of outer space fascination and India’s vibrant cultural heritage through a stunning collection of sarees by Five Pleats by Poornima Menon but also raised funds for the Country Women’s Association (CWA).

The fashion show organised by Five Pleats by Poornima Menon was an extraordinary experience that captivated the audience. Seamlessly blending the allure of outer space with the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India, the collection of sarees representing different states was nothing short of breathtaking. Each piece exuded elegance and charm, demonstrating the intricate craftsmanship and artistic vision behind the brand. It was a true celebration of the beauty and diversity of Indian culture, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

In addition to the mesmerising fashion show, the Space Walk Event also featured captivating dance performances by some truly talented dance groups. Their graceful movements and artistic expressions added another layer of cultural richness to the evening, leaving the audience in awe. The seamless integration of these beautiful dance performances into the event showcased the diversity and depth of artistic talent within the community. We applaud the dance groups for their outstanding contributions, as they further enhanced the cultural experience for all attendees, making it an unforgettable celebration of art, fashion, and philanthropy.

Emie Roy and Wayne Aguilar, charismatic MCs for the evening, were an unstoppable duo, effortlessly captivating the audience and infusing the event with an unparalleled energy and excitement. With their engaging personalities and dynamic stage presence, they created an electrifying atmosphere that kept everyone thoroughly entertained throughout the entire event.

The Sydney Community Group’s dedication to philanthropy was evident throughout the event. The funds raised from the Fashion Show were generously handed over to the Country Women’s Association (CWA), an organization known for its commitment to supporting women in rural areas. This contribution will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of those in need, empowering and uplifting individuals and communities alike.

Dr. Peter Gangemi, the Mayor of The Hills Shire Council, and Councillor Sreeni Pillamarri delivered motivational speeches that inspired and resonated with the audience. Their words of encouragement and support not only enhanced the event but also highlighted the importance of community engagement and collaboration. We were privileged to witness their dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Kudos must be given to the dedicated SCG board, the Charity Ambassadors, and the Events Director, Manjula Viswanath, for their exceptional efforts in planning and executing the Space Walk Event. Their meticulous planning, thoughtful curation, and unwavering commitment were evident in every aspect of the event. From the seamless coordination of the fashion show to the creation of an unforgettable cultural experience, their hard work ensured that the event was a resounding success.

The packed audience of close to 300 attendees speaks volumes about the dedication and passion put into organising such a remarkable event. Their commitment to providing a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved deserves the highest praise.
