“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” – Edith Sitwell

Winter in Sydney, 2024, is a season teeming with life and excitement. The world is abuzz with talk of the upcoming Olympics and reminiscing about the thrilling T20 World Cup.

The fashion scene is vibrant with Viva Magenta, the color of the year, making waves in wardrobes and home decor alike. This rich, warm hue has even found its way into my living room, adding a burst of passion and creativity to the interior.

On a particularly rainy and cold Saturday evening, I had the honor of being the featured speaker on Alive 90.5’s “Busy Mum”. Despite the dreary weather, the warmth of the studio and the thrill of going live made it a memorable experience. Sharing stories and connecting with the community, especially on a topic so close to my heart, was invigorating.

Thursdays start early for me with a 6:30 am BNI meeting. Imagine a room filled with powerful, inspiring professionals sharing knowledge and leads – it’s like caffeine for the soul. Speaking of caffeine, I usually need two coffees just to keep pace with the energy in that room.

My mornings follow a routine that was once ironclad: a 6 am gym class, home to wake the kids for school, and then diving into the day’s work. But winter’s chill nudged me to switch my gym time to 9:30 am. This change led me to Maria, my new trainer, whose humor and boundless energy make each session feel like a mix of fitness and stand-up comedy.

Despite a packed schedule of face-to-face meetings, I treasure my Tuesdays. These are my stay-home-and-prepare days, wrapped in my cozy oodie, with a perfect cup of coffee from my freshly grounded and pressed coffee machine. It’s my time to recharge and plan, with maybe a sneaky Netflix episode or two.

Creativity keeps me going, and some days are dedicated to making reels with my friends Pratigya and Jas. We turn my living room into a dance studio or visit different restuarngs and cafe, creating hilarious behind-the-scenes videos that capture our joyful chaos.

Being a mom often feels like being an Uber driver, shuttling my boys to playdates and activities. Yet, winter brings special moments in the kitchen, where we make cookies, cupcakes, and KFC-style popcorn chicken together. Our culinary adventures are filled with laughter and mess – the best kind of memories.

Winter cleaning, however, is my nemesis. The cold saps my motivation, making me dream of curling up with Netflix, a blanket, and a hot coffee. But, as every busy mom knows, dreams have to wait.

In this busy time with two boys, there are days when I hardly get a moment to chat with my husband. He has been my pillar, always supporting me and giving me credit for where Digiware has reached. Without his unwavering support, positive attitude, and incredible organisational skills, I wouldn’t be able to handle multiple clients so effectively.

Sometimes we forget that behind almost every successful mother and businesswoman is a husband who helps at home, guides at work, and plans the financials with you. At least for me, he is both my pillar and my pillow to cushion my fall. My success is his success.

As the founder of a digital marketing agency, I sometimes miss the hands-on creative work. I crave those moments of getting my hands dirty with ground-level projects. To channel this passion, I’ve started a podcast featuring incredible women whose voices inspire. These women, like phoenixes, have risen above negativity and adversity. Watch out for that segment soon – it’s going to be powerful.

Winter in Sydney is a blend of hustle, humor, and heart. It’s a season of balancing professional ambitions, personal joys, and family warmth. As I navigate this bustling winter, I embrace each moment, finding beauty in the chaos, strength in early morning coffees, and inspiration in the laughter of my loved ones.
