Anu Bedi currently owns & runs multiple successful businesses, built up from scratch. These include a swim school, a business consultancy service and STEM co-curricular programs for children. Anu has previously worked in Senior Management/Directorship positions within the Australian Federal Government. After having her own children, she realized she craved to see the impact she made on individual lives in a more connected way. This started Anu’s entrepreneurial journey, and she took a leap of faith where her true passion lay – to make a difference in the life of the next generation.
The initial foray into entrepreneurship began with the establishment of kids holiday camps within varied government boundaries and successfully filling these to capacity in a matter of months. After making a success of this, Anu opened a swim school and operated it at capacity within the 1st year of opening.
The business currently has transited to becoming management run. Anu also worked within the Franchising space as a National Manager for the fastest growing swimming franchise in Australia. Anu has established rights to STEM Champ Australia/NZ. She is passionate to encourage kids and especially girls in the STEM space from a young age. This is a key driver for Anu in establishing this business. Anu has won various accolades and awards for her work in various fields, including the most recent Altitude Awards and a Small Business Champion Award and the prestigious Secretary’s Award for major projects in the Federal Government.
Anu and her businesses are regularly featured as ‘finalists’ in various categories. Despite being able to successfully convert greenfield businesses into sustained, profitable ventures within months, Anu is an academic by nature and loves to share her knowledge. She enjoys lecturing & coordinating courses at Technical and Further Education (TAFE) colleges and at University’s in NSW.
Anu has also undertaken various speaking gigs for private entities and not for profit organisations. Currently, while providing a strategic direction to her own businesses, Anu enjoys helping other businesses become successful through CSmart Consultancy. Industry’s Anu has already worked within this space include hospitality, education, fitness & swimming, beauty, supply chain management, education (early childhood & vocational education), Immigration, creative arts, construction and not for profit organisations.
